Behind its vibrant appearance, however, lies a more calculated survival strategy; females occasionally deposit their eggs inside beehives, where the beetle larvae feed on developing bees. Yet, despite this rather brutal lifecycle, it is impossible not to be captivated by the sheer elegance of this species\u2014and indeed, the entire <em>Cleridae<\/em> family. Most checkered beetles are adorned with intense, brilliant coloration and striking patterns, easily securing their place among the most visually dazzling insects you can encounter in the
