Presentan un cuerpo aplanado con forma de hoja y marcados salientes angulares en los hombros que les permiten mimetizarse a la perfecci\u00f3n con la vegetaci\u00f3n. Sorprendentemente, muchas especies cambian progresivamente de verde brillante a tonos amarillentos para adaptarse a los cambios estacionales de las plantas. M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de su camuflaje, poseen fascinantes adaptaciones defensivas. Los estudios sobre la tribu <em>Chlorocorini<\/em> revelan que la longitud de su ruga ostiolar \u2014parte fundamental de sus gl\u00e1ndulas de olor\u2014 evoluciona r\u00e1pidamente como mecanismo disuasorio frente a los depredadores.
