First described by the prolific English entomologist Francis Walker in 1851, this striking genus is primarily distributed throughout the lush rainforests of Central and South America. I crossed paths with this colorful specimen during a field excursion to Nanegalito, a peaceful village nestled within the highly biodiverse Mindo valley region.
