Found predominantly across Central and South America, these bugs are master classes in aposematism\u2014using brilliant, contrasting hues to warn predators that they are highly toxic or foul-tasting. Like other true bugs, <em>Paryphes<\/em> species use specialised piercing-sucking mouthparts to feed on plant sap, flowers, and developing seeds. I captured this incredible nymph during my very first expedition to Yasun\u00ed National Park in the Amazon rainforest. It instantly became my absolute favourite photo from the trip, so much so that it served as my personal phone wallpaper for several
