Se han descubierto f\u00f3siles suyos en el Jur\u00e1sico Medio de Mongolia Interior, lo que significa que estos insectos han estado caminando sobre la Tierra desde hace bastante m\u00e1s de 160 millones de a\u00f1os. El <em>Leptocoris vicinus<\/em> es una especie de chinche perfumado que se encuentra en Filipinas, Taiw\u00e1n, Jap\u00f3n y por todo el sudeste asi\u00e1tico. Estas chinches se alimentan de las semillas de las plantas sapind\u00e1ceas, de las cuales secuestran y acumulan sus compuestos qu\u00edmicos t\u00f3xicos. Ante una amenaza, pueden secretar selectivamente estas toxinas mediante autofagia (sangrado defensivo) para disuadir a aves y sapos hambrientos.
