Cuando se trata de los sexos, estas moscas exhiben un intenso dimorfismo sexual. Los machos lucen cuerpos sumamente alargados, patas m\u00e1s largas y cabezas y antenas notablemente m\u00e1s grandes en comparaci\u00f3n con las hembras. Esas patas delanteras tan rid\u00edculamente largas tampoco son solo para presumir; los machos las usan para librar \u00e9picas peleas de lucha libre contra sus rivales por los territorios de apareamiento. \u00a1Literalmente se entrelazan de patas y se aplican llaves a la cabeza hasta que el perdedor se ve obligado a retirarse! Mientras que los adultos se congregan en grandes grupos cerca del n\u00e9ctar floral o la savia, sus larvas son el equipo de reciclaje, desarroll\u00e1ndose e incluso pasando a la fase de cris\u00e1lida por completo dentro de cactus en descomposici\u00f3n, frutas podridas o corteza muerta. Me top\u00e9 con una bonita mosca hembra probablemente perteneciente al g\u00e9nero <em>Glyphidops<\/em> en lo profundo del bosque protegido de La Perla,
