Vive en lo profundo de los bosques nubosos v\u00edrgenes de Sudam\u00e9rica y es famosa por los enormes ocelos hiperrealistas que adornan sus alas anteriores. Estas manchas, equipadas con m\u00faltiples &#8220;pupilas&#8221; blancas, funcionan como una brillante ilusi\u00f3n \u00f3ptica que enga\u00f1a a los depredadores, oblig\u00e1ndolos a atacar los bordes no vitales de las alas en lugar del cuerpo del insecto. En cuanto a su aspecto, los sexos no podr\u00edan ser m\u00e1s diferentes: los machos son un verdadero espect\u00e1culo visual con alas de un azul met\u00e1lico resplandeciente y puntas negras, mientras que las hembras lucen una elegante paleta marr\u00f3n oscuro acentuada por una franja blanca ancha y curva. Como defensa, conf\u00edan en un vuelo err\u00e1tico y movimientos espasm\u00f3dicos. \u00a1Tuve una suerte incre\u00edble al toparme con esta belleza de mariposa! Con un poco de paciencia, logr\u00e9 capturar unas fotos fant\u00e1sticas mientras descansaba sobre el follaje, agitando r\u00edtmicamente las alas para regular su temperatura y calentar sus m\u00fasculos antes de despegar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Les presento a la mariposa Mesosemia loruhama, una deslumbrante mariposa de la familia de las mariposas marca de metal (Riodinidae).
