Mientras que la mayor\u00eda de las ara\u00f1as temen caer al agua, esta cazadora especializada se desplaza sobre ella con total naturalidad. Incre\u00edblemente, es capaz de correr m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido sobre la superficie de un r\u00edo o estanque que sobre la tierra firme, logrando una velocidad asombrosa mediante zancadas alternas de sus largas patas delanteras. Ante cualquier amenaza, abandona su tela y adopta una estricta postura defensiva, estirando su cuerpo en una l\u00ednea perfectamente recta con las patas extendidas hacia adelante y hacia atr\u00e1s para imitar una brizna de hierba o una ca\u00f1a. Al vivir en m\u00e1rgenes acu\u00e1ticos h\u00famedos, tejen telas orbitales simples e inclinadas horizontalmente. Debido a que estas estructuras se enfrentan a la brisa constante y al tr\u00e1fico pesado de insectos, las ara\u00f1as ingieren y reconstruyen su seda a diario para mantenerla impecable. Me top\u00e9 con este testarudo ejemplar en un camping junto a un r\u00edo en Finlandia. Bloqueada en su camuflaje defensivo contra una hoja, su forma compacta luc\u00eda exactamente como un peque\u00f1o huevo amarillo. Aunque esper\u00e9 pacientemente a que rompiera su postura, la ara\u00f1a se neg\u00f3 a moverse, oblig\u00e1ndome a admirar su impecable compromiso por parecer un fragmento m\u00e1s de la vegetaci\u00f3n. Me encontr\u00e9 con un ejemplar m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o, esta vez bien extendido sobre una hoja cerca de una bonita reserva natural en J\u00e4rf\u00e4lla,
