Pese a ser uno de los crambidos m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os y sobrios, sus alas anteriores de tono pardo amarillento destacan por una clara franja longitudinal de color blanquecino. A diferencia de otras polillas nocturnas, vuela activamente tanto bajo el sol del d\u00eda como desde el atardecer entrada la noche, siendo atra\u00edda con fuerza por las trampa de luz. En la base de la hierba, sus orugas construyen galer\u00edas y tubos de seda protectores para alimentarse de diversas gram\u00edneas, como la festuca ovejuna (<em>Festuca ovina<\/em>) o la poa de los prados (<em>Poa pratensis<\/em>). Encontr\u00e9 a esta simp\u00e1tica y diminuta polilla \u2014con su gracioso y mullido hocico\u2014 en un peque\u00f1o parque a pocas manzanas de mi casa en Barkarby,
