Incidence of self-reported acute gastrointestinal infections in the community in Poland: a population-based study

A cohort study carried out by a subcontracted social marketing company for 12 months. Each month, we surveyed 300 randomly selected respondents, asking for gastrointestinal symptoms occurance during the previous 4 weeks. This type of cohort study is commonly used to study the burden of infectious diseases. The investigation was funded by the international project MedVetNet.
