Within a longitudinal project, we tried to identify which weather conditions, landscape and socio-demographic determinants can explain geographic differences in tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) risk. We developed collaboration with the Meteorological Institute. In this publication, also presented on a meteorological congress, prof. Ustrnul described statistical methods of kriging to interpolate measurements from 60 meteorological stations to almost 2500 small administrative units (municipalities) that can be used in the future model. Thanks to this amazing work of the Meteorological Institute experts, we could develop the final predictive model, published in 2018, after many years of refinements and preparations!
