The article examines factors that influence support for vaccination among primary care physicians in Poland. The study shows that older physicians, those who rely on scientific sources of information, and those who feel confident in addressing vaccination myths are more likely to support vaccinations. The findings highlight the importance of providing healthcare professionals with high‑quality, evidence‑based educational materials to strengthen vaccination support. The study also identifies regional differences and suggests that younger physicians may require additional training and resources to promote vaccinations with confidence.
The survey was conducted as part of a project funded by the Norway Grants and aimed to assess knowledge gaps among physicians responsible for administering vaccinations in Poland. One possible explanation for lower confidence among younger physicians is their greater reliance on social media rather than scientific literature as a source of information, which is somewhat concerning. The study was carried out shortly before the COVID‑19 pandemic and attracted considerable attention.
