I tried to use this large congress of infectious disease specialists, organised every 4 years, to disseminate results of my longitudinal project on tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) risk assessment based on different data sources. Most of my investigations led to the conclusion that Poland does not have a valid definition of TBE endemic areas. Without this definition it is problematic to use the official recommendations for TBE vaccination, which refer to living in or visiting endemic areas.
