The outbreak began after a local resident returned from Lodz, where contact with a person recently arrived from England likely introduced the virus. Most cases were unvaccinated, and several experienced severe complications, though all recovered. Health authorities responded with a mass vaccination campaign targeting the Roma community, which successfully limited further spread of the disease. The outbreak highlighted the risks of low vaccination coverage in specific groups and demonstrated that targeted immunisation and active surveillance could effectively control measles outbreaks, preventing wider transmission to the general population.

Hana Orlíková, the first fellow of the EPIET training programme based in Poland, participated in this investigation and helped organize the vaccination activities. We argued that each EPIET fellow should gain hands‑on experience in outbreak investigations, which allowed us to take part in the response, even though such investigations are typically the responsibility of local health departments. It was a very valuable and engaging experience for me, Hana, and the other young colleagues on our team.

["post-1235","publikacje","type-publikacje","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
