The article examines the high level of confidence in childhood vaccination among the general population in Norway. The study shows that 95.8% of respondents consider vaccination important, 93.4% believe vaccines are safe, and 96.0% believe they are effective. Confidence is slightly lower among unemployed individuals and those with lower levels of education. Nevertheless, vaccination coverage remains high, with 96.3% of children fully vaccinated despite some parental concerns. The study highlights the importance of maintaining a well\u2011informed vaccination programme and using targeted communication to address the concerns of less confident subgroups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We analysed routinely collected surveys from Statistics Norway that included a small number of questions on acceptance of the childhood immunisation programme. For me, the results of this simple analysis contrasted with my earlier observations from Poland, where confidence in vaccination declined over the previous decade. This comparison prompted reflections on the importance of public trust in governmental institutions\u2014an area in which Norway appears to have been successful, but where many other countries have struggled.
