I identified the species based on my previous experience with entomological systematics. Between 1980 and 1984, I lived in Sétif, Algeria, where I met the well‑known Polish entomologist Andrzej Warchałowski. He introduced me to entomology and taught me how to identify beetle species using entomological keys—guidebooks describing the characteristics of different genera.

Although I did not pursue a professional career in entomology due to various circumstances, my fascination with the field remained. Today, I use a range of online resources, including iNaturalist, photo blogs, and automated identification tools (such as Google Lens), which allow me to compare my photographs with previously published and tagged images. Because many insects are incorrectly labeled online, my background in systematics is especially helpful. Insects are grouped into tribes, genera, and families based on genetic relationships, shared traits, and behaviors, and this framework helps me assess identifications critically.

My earlier interests focused mainly on beetles, and I have less expertise in groups such as Lepidoptera, Diptera, or spiders. For these groups, I rely more heavily on published resources and online databases. While researching my observations, I have learned a great deal about insect groups I had previously been unfamiliar with.
